Annual Honoring of the Elders Gathering

Welcome to the 37th Annual Honoring of the Elders Gathering. The T.E.N.A Council is grateful to the people and to the land for making it possible to bring this special gathering to our community. We have a thirty three year history with Mount Madonna and 

people have come to know the location as a sacred site. 

Families come from many parts of the world, to share in this serene traditional gathering. Mount Madonna has been home to the California First People and their ceremonies for centuries. That is why this special location is used to this day.

We are honored and proud to have so many fine traditional dancers and singers participating. We invite all nations to honor our elders. When we treat our elders with respect, we teach our children how to treat us and others with respect. In this way, the teaching of tradition continues and the family circle remains strong. 

The Elder Honoring is held on Sunday, at which time we will call the elders up to the arena. As we honor them, please feel free to come up and shake their hands once the master of ceremonies announces it. Welcome, on behalf of the T.E.N.A Council.
